RIDE New Zealand’s Cycling Festival Incorporated Society is committed to protecting your privacy and any personal information we collect. Your privacy is important to us and we take the responsibility of handling Event participants’ personal information very seriously. We recognise that individuals have a right to control how their personal information is collected and used.


This privacy policy applies to the event services offered by the RIDE New Zealand’s Cycling Festival Incorporated Society. It explains how we collect, use, disclose and store personal information when you visit our website and use any products or services which we sell and/or provide. Unless given consent to do otherwise, RIDE New Zealand’s Cycling Festival Incorporated Society will only collect and use personal information as set out below:

Please note that registration for our Events will be provided by a third-party event registration service or event company.  They will process the payment for our Event independently.  RIDE New Zealand’s Cycling Festival Incorporated Society does not have any access to information concerning the payment.  For this reason, the Privacy Policy doesn’t apply to the payment processing system used by the contracted Event Company Partner. However as the contracted Event Company is acting on our behalf, this Privacy Policy does apply to collection of personal data deemed necessary for your registration to the Event.

  1. What information does the Event collect?
    The only personal information collected is what is provided voluntarily by a participant when you purchase an event entry, subscribe to the event newsletter, respond to a survey or fill out a form. When purchasing or registering on our website, you may be asked to enter your: name, contact details, date of birth, address, emergency contact details, bank account and/or credit card details.

    The personal information we collect enables the Event to provide participants with a personalised experience of our services to suit individual needs. It enables the Event to:

From time to time, you may also receive communications from RIDE New Zealand’s Cycling Festival Incorporated Society regarding other events they support or partner with. RIDE New Zealand’s Cycling Festival Incorporated Society will not share your email address with third parties. If you do not want to receive e-mails from us in the future, simply unsubscribe from the e-newsletter by clicking the unsubscribe button in the email newsletter.
  8. How does the Event protect your information?
    The Event takes all reasonable steps to keep secure personal information recorded. It is stored on secure servers in digital format. Event employees are obliged to respect the confidentiality of any personal and/or sensitive information held.

The Event website does not use cookies, however, it does utilise a range of third party programmes/ external sites which use cookies.

Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about website use by means of cookies, which are stored on users’ computers. The information generated relating to the Event’s website is used by the Event Organiser to create reports about the use of the website.     We do not sell, trade, or transfer to third parties sensitive information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, but we require those parties to agree to keep this information confidential. This information will not be used or disclosed for any other purposes without consent, except in exceptional cases when disclosure may be required by law or is necessary to protect the rights or property of participants at the Event, or any member of the public, or to lessen a serious threat to a person’s health or safety. However, non-personally identifiable bulk visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses. Information is not shared with other organisations for commercial purposes.

    The Event has no responsibility or liability for the content and/or activities of sites linked to the Event website. These third party/external sites are not under the control of the Event and have separate and independent privacy policies, therefore the Event is not responsible for the conduct of companies linked to the Event website, nor for the performance or otherwise of any content and/or software contained in such external websites.

We keep personal information for no longer than necessary.  A request may be made to delete personal and/or sensitive information, and all reasonable steps to delete the information will be made, except where it is required for legal reasons. Deletion of information may result in the Event being unable to sell products directly and/or provide post-event services.

    By using our site, you consent to our privacy policy. If any provision of this privacy policy is held to be invalid, void, unenforceable or illegal for any reason, such provision shall be deemed to be severed from this privacy policy and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.
